AppImage Font issue

Dear KDevelop fans,

I have run the AppImage version of KDevelop on Ubuntu 14.04 for the last 2
years and it has been great.

However, I have inadvertently changed something on my machine such that the
fonts in the Konsole & Debug windows are replaced with little squares.

I believe the AppImage has bundled fonts but still takes "guidance" from
the host system. I have looked for font configuration in *rc files in my
.config and .kde/share/config directories but to no avail.

Can anyone tell me how to get out of this mess?

thanks

Dominic

Hey Dominic,

Looks like you've run into the same issue as discussed here:
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kdevelop/2018-October/019726.html

This should be fixed in the upcoming 5.3.1.

For the time being, please download the *nightly* AppImage from here:
https://www.kdevelop.org/download

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Kevin

Hi,

Super! Works for me :)
cool! I think for things like this, i.e. only build/packaging fixes, we could
also "replace" the release image, by adding a kdevelop-5.3.0-1.AppImage and
linking it as the default. Should I do that?

Best,
Sven

I'd just wait for 5.3.1, which we'll hopefully release end of this week.

I'm trying to look into the Windows installer issues asap [1], which is our
biggest blocker IMO...

Kevin
